Norwich City have completed the signing of Norway international Mathias Normann from Russian side FC Rostov. The defensive midfielder joins Norwich on a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Normann becomes the club’s tenth first-team signing of the summer.

Career So Far
Twenty-five-year-old Normann started out in his native Norway with Lofoten, where he scored once in five appearances. He then completed a move to Bodo/Glimt and spent four seasons there, although he did not make an appearance in the first two, instead spending time on loan at Alta.
He made 27 appearances in the third season plus a further six in cup competitions. All three of his goals that season came in the cup.
Normann has already come to England once in his career having signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2017. He spent his first season at the club back on loan in Norway with Molde and eventually left the club without making an appearance.
He signed for Rostov in 2019 and went on to appear 52 times for the club in the Russian Premier League.
Normann Excited for Norwich Move
Speaking to the club website about his move, Normann said: “I’m glad to be at this club and happy to be here.
“This will be very exciting for me. I know that Norwich play very good football and they like to keep the ball. They have a lot of energy. I spoke a little bit to the head coach [Daniel Farke] and everything looks very good.
“I’m a defensive midfielder, I like to tackle, to win the ball and to use my body. I like to be on the ball and try to dictate the game.
“I think I’m ready for this level now and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
