Bournemouth have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland international Robbie Brady on a free transfer. The 29-year-old joins on a deal until the end of the current season, with the option of the club extending for another season. Brady has been without a club since being released by Burnley at the end of last season. He will wear the number 12 shirt for The Cherries.

Robbie Brady Brings Versatility to Bournemouth Squad
Brady is an experienced professional, capable of playing on either wing or filling it at left-back, bringing valuable squad depth to Scott Parker’s side. Upon the completion of the transfer, Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk: “To be able to sign a player of Robbie’s experience and calibre on a free transfer is a coup for the football club.
“Robbie has huge quality and versatility to add another important option to Scott Parker and his coaching staff.
“Proven at the top level, Robbie knows what it takes to be a Premier League player and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us at Vitality Stadium.”
Brady Hoping to Get Career Back on Track
At 29-years-old, Brady still has many years ahead of him, despite the stuttering progress he showed at times at Burnley. Injuries held him back, as he featured in only 87 out of a possible 167 Premier League matches for The Clarets.
Whilst he spent his time at Burnley involved in relegation battles, he joins a Bournemouth side hoping to rejoin the top flight. Speaking to afcb.co.uk on Bournemouth’s promotion aspirations, he said: “It’s going to take a lot of hard work, everyone knows that in this division you’ve got to get the basics right first, and that’s hard work and getting that tight-knit group together and becoming a force.”
Bournemouth have made an excellent start to the season, sitting top of the Championship with 28 points. Their next game is against Stoke City on Tuesday, October 19, where Robbie Brady will hope to make his debut.
