Despite rumours to the contrary, Mauro Icardi will stay at Paris Saint Germain this January with no bids on the table for the striker and PSG have also not entered into any talks for anyone to replace him.
There are no negotiations on Paris Saint-Germain side to sell Mauro Icardi in January. Situation still quiet – no proposals on the table and no talks opened with any other striker to replace him. 🇦🇷 #PSG
Also, Icardi didn't ask to be sold as of now… and he starts tonight.

Mauro Icardi Will Remain at PSG
Striker Starts Against Brest
PSG faced Brest in Ligue One on Saturday 15th January and Icardi was named in the starting line up by manager Mauricio Pochettino. Lionel Messi was not in the squad after having a positive Covid test, although he has now tested negative and it has been reported that Icardi and his fellow Argentine had fallen out in October of 2021 with Icardi feeling Messi was responsible for his lack of call ups to the Argentinian national team.
Juventus Interest
Getfootballnewsitaly.com reported that Juventus felt they were close to a deal for Icardi early in the January transfer window with a loan deal and option to buy being the preferred option. The price for purchase has been cited as €35 million but this was all said to be based on the assumption that Alavaro Morata would leave Turin.
PSG Talks
PSG and Icardi have held talks and it now appears with Romano’s tweet that the French club have no intention or desire to sell the player in January. It is an ongoing rumour typical of the transfer window but it does seem that for now at least there will be no deal done for Icardi to leave PSG. If the situation does change and talks for his sale were to begin, there are reports that Anthony Martial may be a possible replacement with the Manchester United forward intent on leaving the Old Trafford club before the January window closes although United manager Ralf Rangnick has said he wants to keep the player.
