Keane Lewis-Potter

News of Hull City forward Keane Lewis-Potter being linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur has been reported by Gary Jacob of The Times. The 20-year-old has been impressing with his form in the Championship recently despite his age and was the subject of an £8 million bid from newly-promoted Brentford in the summer transfer window.

Keane Lewis-Potter Being Linked With Spurs

Hull City forward Keane Lewis-Potter has really caught the eye since he made his breakthrough into the first team from the academy and is now being linked with a potential move to a number of Premier League clubs with Tottenham Hotspur the latest. Other sides already reportedly holding an interest in the 20-year-old are been Liverpool and West Ham United.

Not only has Lewis-Potter impressed in the Championship but his performance in Hull’s FA Cup third-round tie against Everton also caught the eye and only served to further put him in the spotlight for a possible move to England’s top division. As well as the aforementioned links to Liverpool and West Ham, Southampton are said to be interested alongside Brentford who had that bid rejected in the summer of 2021.

Tottenham Keen on Youth

Jacob’s report on the link with Spurs also referred to the fact that “Tottenham have always been keen to sign the most promising English youngsters”. Lewis-Potter is said to fit that bill.

Whilst he could potentially be an exciting addition for Spurs, the player may well look to the likes of Jack Clarke who impressed for Leeds United but since joining the North London club in 2019 has failed to make an impression. That might be an issue that could put him off a transfer as he will want first-team football should he leave the MKM Stadium.

Hull City’s New Owner in ‘No Rush’ to Sell

Hull finally had their takeover by Turkish Businessman Acun Ilicali confirmed recently and speaking to The Mail after the deal he said he had no need to be selling Hull’s prize assists any time soon: “There is a logic point in football that sometimes you have to sell a player, but this logic moment at the moment is not soon for us. He is so young, he is not in a rush so we are not in a rush, why sell him in the short term?”
