Bayern Munich are interested in signing Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer. Ajax are willing to sell the Dutch talent for £30 million as he enters the final year of his contract.
Bayern Munich Want Ryan Gravenberch Signature
Youngster is a Hot Prospect
According to Fabrizio Romano, Oliver Kahn met with Gravenberch’s agent Mino Riola in Monaco to discuss a deal for the 19-year-old.
Bayern are reluctant to pay the £30 million that Ajax want and will aim to drive the price down.
The German side are keen to strengthen their midfield, with Joshua Kimmich being the only player to consistently hold his position in the middle of the park.
Who is Ryan Gravenberch?
Ryan Gravenberch is a 19-year-old Dutch midfielder. Gravenberch came through the famous Ajax academy and has made 95 appearances for the first team since making his debut in 2018.
Gravenberch made his international debut for the Netherlands in March 2021.
The midfielder is regarded as a top talent in Europe and has been on the radar of clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United.
It has been rumoured that Gravenberch is prepared to move on from Ajax, but he will only leave if the club can receive a transfer fee for him.
Last year, the midfielder told Dutch news outlet Algemeen Dagblad: “It is up to my agent and my father, I don’t know whether I will leave Ajax next summer.
“What I know for sure is that I will not leave if Ajax are not earning anything from me.
“I have played here all my career. Ajax have been good to me and I owe a lot to the club.
“Then I cannot just leave on a free transfer. That will not happen.”
Despite the transfer speculation, Gravenberch knows that there is no rush for him to leave the Dutch giants.
“It is not bad to step out of your comfort zone. A different competition, different life and different people around you.
“But that can also be done at 22, for example.”
Ajax Rebuild May Be Needed
As the summer looms, Ajax may need a major rebuild. Manager Erik ten Hag is being heavily linked to Manchester United and it is likely some players may follow his suit and will leave the club.
However, the team will look forward to finishing the season strongly though as they look focused to win both domestic titles as well as having a strong season in the UEFA Champions League.
