Legendary defender Sergio Ramos would like to continue his career, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“I’d like to play for another four to five years at a high level, and then experience something else,” Ramos said to Amazon Prime. “I have two years contract here in Paris, we’ll try to make that three! One more, and then we’ll see.”
Ramos has struggled with injury this season at Paris Saint-Germain. Of course, prior to moving to France, Ramos was a historic defender with Real Madrid. At 36-years-old, he’s showing no indication of wanting to hang up his boots.
Sergio Ramos Wants to Continue Career for “Another Four to Five Years”
A Historic Career
Ramos signed with PSG last summer after being with Real Madrid since 2005. Unfortunately for the player, injuries have been the story of his season. Ramos holds seven appearances to his name this season – six in Ligue 1 and just one in the Coupe de France. He does, however, have one goal in Ligue 1. Ramos did not make an appearance in the Champions League before PSG were ousted by his former club Real Madrid. He was, of course, part of PSG’s crazy summer that included the acquisitions of several stars, such as Lionel Messi.
All of Ramos’ accolades of the past speak for themselves. Perhaps he’s not the same player on the pitch as he showed, which will be determined when he returns to health, but there’s no question that he can make an impact solely based on his experience.
PSG have racked up French trophies in the past. They’re currently in first place in Ligue 1 by a wide margin as well. The goal they’re chasing, however, is the Champions League. Ramos, of course, has won this trophy four times. His quotes show a clear indication of wanting to stay in Paris, so one would imagine the club hangs onto him and continues to chase Champions League glory.
