Harry Kane’s Future Is at Tottenham Hotspur as Striker Is ‘Happy’ at Spurs

Harry Kane's future

Harry Kane’s future could well be at Tottenham Hotspur for at least a few more years. The striker is happy at the club according to Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard.

The England international has had another brilliant season, one only just eclipsed by his brilliant teammate Son Heung-Min, with the two forwards enjoying plenty of goals together.

Spurs Boss Antonio Conte Paves the Way

A key factor in deciding Harry Kane’s future is all down to the new boss. Antonio Conte has not only become a fans’ favourite but also has won the dressing room. Footage after the final day shows a jubilant squad celebrating securing Champions League football together. But while the team celebrated this goal, there was a feeling that this is truly the start of a proper Spurs revival.

For now Kane has not put pen to paper on a new contract. Talks have not started yet according to Kilpatrick. The Spurs striker still has another two years left on his deal.

Backing Conte is important for Kane. Spurs have already announced they will be pumping in another £150 million to support the club this summer. But there are still talks to be had between Conte, Fabio Paratici and the board to decide their summer transfer strategy.

Can Kane Win Something at Spurs?

Appearing on the Jimmy Fallon show, one of Kane’s first answers revealed just how determined he is to succeed. Fallon asked him if he was destined to be a superstar from youth level.

Kane said: “I was good when I was younger but I don’t think I was the best player on the team. I really had to work hard to prove people wrong. But I think that’s what made me who I am today and got me to the level I got to.”

While Kane was trying to engineer a move away last summer, with clubs like Manchester City pursuing Kane’s signature, he still committed his future to the club. At 29 years young, the striker still has plenty of goals left in him to go to another club and win trophies. So there has to be motivation for the forward to stay at Tottenham. But he definitely seems determined to win something at this club.

Extra motivation has arrived in the form of Conte and the squad he is building. The introduction of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have already bolstered the squad. Adding a few more this summer and keeping the likes of Kane and Son could be a big step for Spurs.

Kane may sense that this is the moment for Spurs to win something. They’ve come desperately close in the form of the Champions League, a few cup semi-finals and a title race they were never really in. Can they take it one step further and finally win something?
