The Barcelona interest in Bernardo Silva of Manchester City is growing. In fact, the main name discussed in a recent meeting between the club and agent Jorge Mendes was Silva, according to Fabrizio Romano. Barcelona manager Xavi is a huge fan of the Portuguese playmaker.
A deal is not in the works at the moment, however. City will slap a major price tag on the player. Barcelona will have to wait to see what happens with Frenkie de Jong before making a push.
If Frenkie De Jong is sold, Barcelona will use the money to try and sign Bernardo Silva.

Increased FC Barcelona Interest in Bernardo Silva
A Very Valuable Piece
Silva has long been one of the most consistent wingers in the Premier League and European football as a whole. Now, at 27-years-old, the playmaking sensation is in the midst of his prime.
Barcelona have been quite busy in the transfer window thus far, securing a number of players while also showing massive interest in other stars.

Silva, of course, would be another welcomed addition should the move eventually materialize. This past season he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 matches across the Premier League, FA Cup, and the Champions League. His playmaking skills are what separate him from other players. In addition, Silva is silky smooth with the ball at his feet, able to get past any and all defenders with ease.
Barcelona holds a number of players who can start in the attack. With that being said, Silva would likely be a constant starter based on how the squad is currently constructed. Silva, although primary a right-winger, can also play on the left and the attacking midfield position if needed. Playing under Pep Guardiola at City, Silva has learned to adjust to multiple positions. He would certainly be a welcomed addition to the revamped Barcelona side under Xavi.
