Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence is hinting at his desire to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to David Ornstein. Although Spence has a contract with Middlesbrough running until 2024, he’s ready for a move. His play with Nottingham Forest while on loan was excellent last season, and the next step in his career is awaiting.
If Djed Spence does sign for Spurs, it’ll be gutting but he’s another one that will go down as a Nottingham Forest hero.
Every player that played a part in getting us back to the Premier League is and he was definitely a key player.

Djed Spence Ready for Major Transfer
A Rising Talent
Spence showed great qualities this past season. He was certainly a key player in helping Nottingham Forest secure promotion to the Premier League. He appeared in 39 matches in the Championship, scoring two goals and providing five assists. These kind of statistics aren’t always of major importance for a defender, but they show what Spence is capable of.
Ornstein confirms that Tottenham is in talks with Middlesbrough over a transfer, although nothing has been agreed upon. With that being said, things become a lot easier with the player wanting the transfer.
Tottenham, of course, are back in the Champions League as well. Ornstein mentions the prospect of playing in the competition interests Spence. Surely several teams are interested in the player’s services, but not all can claim Champions League football.
It’s safe to say Tottenham have been busy in giving manager Antonio Conte as many tools as possible. Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, and Yves Bissouma are among names coming into the squad. The team’s right flank may be in store for plenty of excitement as well. Spence looks ready for a move while Dejan Kulusevski starred under Conte.
