Manchester United Identify Perfect Replacement for Multiple Departing Stars – Official Offer Made

Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen

According to Adam Crafton of The Athletic, Manchester United see Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen as someone who can “fill in more bodies” in the middle of the park, having lost the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata this summer.

The Red Devils are prepared to slim down their squad this summer but need to find someone to replace the influence of the aforementioned trio in attacking midfield, and Eriksen seems the perfect fit.

With the departures confirmed by the Old Trafford hierarchy, it’s clear they have some holes to fill, especially in midfield – making it a strong possibility they could sign both De Jong and Eriksen.

Returning From The Brink

Following his return to football after his devastating collapse from a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, the Danish international signed a contract until this summer with Brentford.

He has impressed with the newly-promoted side, making 11 appearances, providing four assists and scoring once during his spell in West London. While at Brentford, his impressive form earned him a recall to the Danish national team – where he scored in a 4-2 loss to the Netherlands.

Where Next for Eriksen?

Eriksen has won the hearts of many following his triumphant return to top-flight football. He showed no ill effects of his cardiac arrest while playing for the Bees. At 30 years old, time is still on his side – and his class was still evident at the Brentford Community stadium.

The West London side are keen to retain the services of the Danish maestro. Eriksen has not decided on his future – with Manchester United and Tottenham keeping tabs on his situation.

Eriksen has shown his ability is still very much there following his recovery. Wherever he decides to go, they will be getting a player hungry to prove his class once again.
