Cristiano Ronaldo is worried about Manchester United’s inactivity on the transfer market, according to Manu Sainz, who is close to Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes. Following the recent signings made by Liverpool and Manchester City, the 37-year-old Portuguese fears that United’s gap with them will widen even more.
Ronaldo seems to know how to work United, having rapidly signed for them after a barrage of rumours linking him to Manchester City. It is thought that this could be another attempt for him to convince the Red Devils to make some signings.

Ronaldo expressed that he doesn’t want to spend his final seasons in elite football where he doesn’t have a real chance to add trophies to his cabinet, and his concerns have merit. United have not won the league in almost ten years and their last domestic title was the 2016/17 EFL Cup, a season that also saw them win the Europa League.

Ronaldo wants reinforcements at United, but so far it seems the club won’t make the squad changes that he considers necessary. However, the newly appointed Erik ten Hag has appeared to be ambitious when it comes to signing new players.

Back in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo joined United following an excellent display against the club while representing Sporting CP. He subsequently enjoyed a remarkable stint at the English side, winning three Premier League titles and being triumphant in the UEFA Champions League.
The vast majority of players would’ve considered this a successful career, but Ronaldo did it all during his supposed “developing years”. He later joined Real Madrid, and the rest is history. Two La Liga titles and a staggering four Champions League crowns.
His subsequent Juventus stint was relatively disappointing, despite the two Scudettos.
However, 2021 saw him make a long-awaited return to United. Ronaldo’s 18 league goals for this bleak United side means he can consider his season successful, even though the same isn’t true when it comes to the club he represented. Still, Ronaldo likely views any season without a trophy as a massive failure.
