Tottenham Step up Chase for Brazil International Attacker Also Targeted by Chelsea

Brazil International

Brazil international Richarlison is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Spurs have stepped up their interest in the Everton man, according to Fabrizio Romano, with talks progressing well. Personal terms are currently being discussed, and are at an advanced stage, with talks set to continue between the clubs this week. Harry Winks could potentially be used as a makeweight in the deal, but no structure has been agreed upon yet.

Richarlison: Tottenham Hotspur Identify Brazil International as Priority

Everton Forward to Bolster Tottenham Hotspur

The North London club were quick to recruit at the start of this transfer window bringing in two players who could start right away in Ivan Perišić and Yves Bissouma, along with back-up goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who would also help the club’s homegrown quota.

Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his attacking options with Champions League football on the horizon for the club. With Steven Bergwijn set to depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the club are looking to recruit a replacement, with Richarlison made a priority, aided by his invaluable Premier League experience.

Tottenham Hotspur have tried to include Bergwijn in the deal, offering around £20 million-plus the Dutchman, as revealed by Sam Wallace and John Percy of the Telegraph, but the Toffees are said to have firmly rejected this offer.

Richarlison would bring a level of variety and creativity to Conte’s squad that they have been lacking. He can play in a number of positions including up front on his own, or in a partnership. His ability in one v one situations means he is more than adept at playing out wide or in a number 10 role. The Brazilian international is direct and has a good football brain which enables him to get into good positions and often make the right choice.

He is always pressing the opposition or making runs in behind, never giving his markers a rest. In a struggling Everton team last season, Richarlison was often on a one-man rescue mission, especially towards the end of the season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 33 games.
