The Hammers have not yet tabled an offer for the 23-year-old, but talks have started. The London Club is looking to strengthen its strike force this summer. Gianluca Scamacca would be a coup.
The Hammers have competition for the signature of Scamacca from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Premier League club has apparently made a higher bid than the Ligue 1 club. West Ham is thought to be discussing a fee of around €40 million. The Italian Club values the 23-year-old at around €50 million (roughly £42 million), so the Hammers are not far off the value.
Scamacca scored 16 goals in 36 appearances attracting the attention of several clubs. PSG tabled an offer of €30 million, which Sassuolo declined. The Italian club has not officially agreed on any fee with West Ham yet, but with talks ongoing, the deal could be done quickly.
The latest on the deal from Fabrizio Romano is that Paris Saint-Germain are still interested in Scamacca but are not willing to meet the €50 million fee.
⚒️ Gianluca Scamacca averages a goal every 146 minutes of league action over the last two seasons. Compared to players in the Premier League in that time, only Mo Salah (every 130 mins) and Diogo Jota (every 145 mins) are scoring more frequently pic.twitter.com/anxtZybqia

Talks Ongoing
According to Dharmesh Sheth the talks centre on fees and structure. Beating PSG to the signature of Scamacca shows the intent of West Ham, who finished seventh last season. European football is available for Scamacca at the Hammers, as their finishing position put them in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
The striker will be the marquee signing for the Hammers if this gets off the ground. West Ham has been slow in the transfer market so far but they have money to spend. Splashing some cash to sign an exciting and prolific striker will be extremely good business by David Moyes.
Scamacca is under contract with Sassuolo until 2026, so personal terms and fees will be the make or break for any deal to go through. At 23 the striker still has plenty of time to move to the English top-flight if the move does not happen this window.
