Departing Juventus Star Snapped Up By AS Roma

The transfer window is in full force currently and there is some enticing business being done across the continent. This goes for the Serie A too, with departing Juventus star Paulo Dybala being at the fore of this. As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Dybala is all but confirmed as a Roma player.

Where Will the Departing Juventus Star Fit in, in Rome

Last season, the big arrival in the attacking third for Roma was Tammy Abraham. The Englishman had worked with Jose Mourinho previously whilst the departing Juventus star Paulo Dybala will get his first taste of the legendary manager. Abraham is a key figure in the Dybala move – it will be fascinating to see how cohesive the pair can be.

It was first thought that the Argentine would join Abraham and Nicolo Zaniolo in a dynamic front three. Zaniolo may well be on his way out of the club though, potentially facilitating for Dybala’s arrival. There is a lot of chatter that points towards Paris Saint-Germain as the next destination for Zaniolo. This would be his first foray away from Italian football.

Back to Dybala though and he will surely go straight into the starting lineup under Mourinho. He has never been too big on playing youth players, as can be seen with the likes of Bryan Reynolds in the Eternal city. This makes the 28-year-old an even more nailed-on starter for Roma, who are coming fresh off of winning the inaugural UEFA Conference League.

Why Dybala is Leaving Turin

Departing Juventus star Dybala had other suitors beyond just Roma, which is hardly surprising. Napoli were the other team reportedly pursuing the forward and that made plenty of sense too. Long-time duo Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens have departed Naples, the former joining Toronto FC in the MLS whilst Mertens’ future is yet to be decided.

Juventus have been a lesser side in the past few years, no longer being the top-dog and runaway winner of the Scudetto. He has had some injuries as well as not having the most harmonious relationship with both Max Allegri and the powers that be at the Allianz.

Dybala is one of the world’s best on his day, even after these struggles. This is a great move for both him and Roma and it could help the Giallorossi continue to build under the Portuguese icon.
