Djed Spence: His Story So Far
The England U21 international spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and played a key role in the side’s promotion campaign to the Premier League. Spence contributed two league goals and four assists in his time at the club, and even more impressively secured a hat-trick of awards in March 2022; EFL Young Player of the Month, Championship Player of the Month and Championship Goal of the Month for his stunning strike against Queens Park Rangers.
The end of the 2021/22 campaign saw Spence named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season, as well as the PFA Championship Team of the Year. The 21-year-old will be eager to add to his experience and now that the youngster has tasted success at the playoff final, he is looking to make his name known in the top flight. Antonio Conte had his sights set on the star since the beginning of the transfer window and Spence made it clear he was open to a move to North London to test his strengths at a top-six club.
A more attractive element for the Englishman will likely be the lucrative opportunity to compete in the Champions League and rub shoulders with some of the most elite talents across Europe.
