Erik ten Hag has made a move that will doubtless excite Manchester United fans. According to Laurie Whitwell and Andy Mitten of The Athletic, the new boss at Old Trafford dropped a player due to tardiness. The report reveals that while Ten Hag was planning to play the unnamed star, they turned up for meetings late twice during United’s pre-season tour of Asia and Australia, and as such, they found themselves out of the team.
It is evident that the Dutch manager is a stickler who won’t let standards within the squad slip, and this is exactly what is needed at the Theatre of Dreams. During Ralf Rangnick‘s time in Manchester, the dressing room seemed to have many problems, a lot of which related back to discipline. There were leaks within the squad, while players appeared as though they weren’t putting in the effort when on the pitch. This is something that no fans want, and it appears that these days could be over under the new regime.

New Boss Looking to Change Things Up With Success Already
The United manager seems to have taken a different approach to his recent predecessors. Although it is yet to be seen whether this will work, their performances in pre-season have been promising.

The most impressive result of the Red Devils’ recent tour was a 4-0 thrashing of arch-rivals Liverpool. They also beat Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace in Australia.
Ten Hag’s side were, however, unable to maintain their 2-0 advantage over Aston Villa in their most recent game, showing glimpses of defensive calamities associated with their 2021/22 campaign as they conceded twice in the second half to allow the Birmingham side to bring the score level and end the match all square.
