Manchester United could complete a £141 million double swoop this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to link up with some familiar faces.
In an interview, Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder admitted that “you never know” when talking about the future of United target Antony. The winger is one of the Red Devils’ main summer targets, with Ten Hag keen to link up with his former colleague.

Meanwhile, it is only a matter of time before United announce the signing of Lisandro Martinez. They have agreed on a fee of £57 million with the Dutch giants, and the move’s confirmation is seemingly imminent after the centre-back arrived at Carrington yesterday with Christian Eriksen, who was reporting for his first day at his new club.

Alfred Schreuder’s Interview
In his interview with Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, Schreuder said: “Internally we have agreed that we want to keep the current squad together. Nobody wants to sell him.”
“Antony is working well. I don’t have the feeling that he’s busy with a transfer.”
The Ajax boss did also concede that the transfer market can be unpredictable, revealing: “we are assuming that we can keep this squad together. But I know, and everyone knows, that in football you never know”.
An Expensive Double Swoop
Although Ajax don’t have the financial power of the world’s biggest clubs, they are by no means weak and aren’t under any obligation to sell their players cheap.
£57 million for Martinez is no small fee, and United are taking a slight risk on a player who has no experience in Europe’s top five leagues.

Meanwhile, the asking price set for Antony is even steeper. According to reports on Wednesday morning, Ajax now want £84 million if they are to sell the Brazilian winger. This would represent virtually all of United’s remaining transfer budget, and with a move for a midfielder still on the cards, this will be a difficult move for United to complete.
The duo have, though, both been described as “perfect”, and would both likely excel at Old Trafford.
