Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka, a talent they have dubbed “one of the brightest talents in the country”. The young midfielder joins on a six-year-deal.
Chairman Todd Boehly commented on the signing: “Carney is one of the most exciting young players in Europe so we are really looking forward to seeing him in action at Stamford Bridge. We are delighted to be able to bring him to Chelsea and add such a talented young individual to our squad for the new season and beyond”
The former Aston Villa man had this to say about his move to London: “I’m so excited and just can’t wait to get on the pitch, meet all the players and try to win games and trophies with Chelsea”

Prodigy
With this signing, The Blues have secured the signing of a very promising midfielder. At just 18 years old, the youngster could be an integral part of the first team for many years to come if he makes a breakthrough into the first team.
The England Under-19 international had a breakout season in 2021/22, breaking into the Aston Villa first team and impressing at the under-19 European Championship. He played in every game of that tournament for the Young Lions and earned a spot in the Team of the Tournament.
Deal Moves Fast
While the club have wasted time in this window on negotiations, looking at Jules Kounde, this deal moved quite quickly. This time around the side got the deal done quite quickly to secure the services of a talented midfielder.
