Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the signing of the “incredible talent” and young defender Destiny Udogie from Udinese, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old will sign a five-year contract with Spurs but will remain with the Italian side on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season. This comes after some impressively “rapid” transfer business this summer for the North London side, and the move to acquire Udogie is no exception to this rule.

Destiny Udogie Is Making a Name for Himself in Serie A
Udogie is scheduled to complete his medical tests in the coming days and is thought to have arrived in London on the evening of Sunday, August 14.
The youngster has impressed recently with his impressive crossing and passing ability. He is able to carry the ball and create attacks from the left-back position, however, he is also versatile enough to take a stint in midfield.
A recognisable trait in Udogie is his pace; not only is he able to contribute in an attack, but he is able to get back and make crucial recoveries. As well as this, his positional awareness makes him a reliable figure to hold down the backline and support the team.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Impressive Start to the Season:
Tottenham have already bolstered their squad with a number of additions over the summer, these being Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. Conte took charge of Spurs in November 2021 and was able to drastically change the team’s style of play and their season. They finished in fourth place in the league last campaign and consequently secured their spot in the Champions League this year.
