‘Done Deal’: Manchester United Now Set to Sign 41-Goal Star After Rapid Transfer Progress

Casemiro

Manchester United have fully agreed terms to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid, reports Mohamed Bouhafsi and Fabrizio Romano. The Red Devils are now close to confirming the defensive midfielder, who has an impressive 41 senior career goals despite lining up in a very deep position, as their fourth summer signing.

Despite frustration surrounding much of the Red Devils’ summer transfer business, it must be said that they have wrapped up this deal in rapid fashion, albeit out of absolute necessity.

United Spending Big on Casemiro Arrival

The 30-year-old Brazilian has received a very lucrative proposal from United which will put him amongst their highest earners, although not quite on the same level as former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s also going to get a four-year contract with the option to extend it it for another year as well, meaning he can stay in Manchester until 2027 despite already being 30 years of age.

The Manchester giants are not shying away from bringing out the big bucks to secure the services of the defensive midfielder, who has often been labelled among the best midfielders in the world. Apart from his luxurious wage, the Red Devils are also paying a total fee of around £59 million for his acquisition.

He will become their most expensive signing under Erik ten Hag, after they spent £56.7 million to bring in Lisandro Martinez from Ajax. United have also signed Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord to strengthen that area, while also bringing in Christian Eriksen on a smart free transfer.

But the signing of Casemiro will probably be the most important one for the new boss. United have been craving a quality defensive midfielder for many years. The Brazilian should be exactly what they need, as he has the qualities to shield the backline from trouble and swiftly putting an end to menacing opposition attacking moves.

The 30-year-old will also bring a lot of leadership skills and experience with him. During his time with Real Madrid, Casemiro enjoyed an incredible amount of success – winning three La Liga titles, five Champions League trophies and a couple of FIFA Club World Cups too.
