According to Gary Jacob at The Times, Chelsea are trying to complete a deadline day triple swoop of Arsen Zakharyan, Josko Gvardiol and Frenkie De Jong. Between the three players, Todd Boehly’s club could spend north of £170 million before the end of the transfer window.
All About Chelsea’s Potential Triple Swoop
Josko Gvardiol
One of Chelsea’s weak points at the moment is in defence. The club lacks centre-backs, with Reece James repeatedly dropping into a more defensive role. Thomas Tuchel’s side have responded to this, and are closing in on a £78 million deal for the Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol.
The RB Leipzig player is one of the most promising defenders in the world, making a significant impact in his first seasons of Bundesliga football. Bringing Gvardiol to Cobham would be a major coup for the Blues and could provide squad depth for years to come.
Frenkie De Jong
This Dutch midfielder has been a target of Chelsea for the entire window, with Barcelona actively looking to sell and all interested clubs agreeing on a price of £63 million. Frenkie de Jong is a highly talented midfielder renowned for his attacking play and progression of the ball, something that Thomas Tuchel’s club sorely lacks at the moment.
One potential hiccup with signing the Barcelona star is the role of Manchester United. The Red Devils also have an interest in the midfielder, so there could be a bidding war at hand if the Dutchman is to come to Stamford Bridge before the deadline.
🚨 Chesea have offered Frenkie De Jong an annual salary of €18M. 💰

Arsen Zakharyan
Comfortably the least famous player on the list, Arsen Zakharyan is a Russian winger with a lot of potential for improvement. According to Gianluca DiMarzio, the London club already have a bid in place for the Russian.
This youngster is exactly what Chelsea need. The Blues currently lack depth at the top of the pitch and, with the ability to play on both wings, Zakharyan provides a lot of skill and can be a great asset for years to come.
