Tottenham Hotspur Lineup Prediction vs Arsenal as Antonio Conte Prepares for Another Feisty London Derby

Tottenham Hotspur lineup

Following a build-up featuring Antonio Conte complimenting Mikel Arteta’s work this season, the Italian’s side travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal. Find out who the Last Word on Football team predict to take a place in the Tottenham Hotspur side.

How Tottenham Hotspur Have Lined-up Recently

The Tottenham Hotspur lineup has recently come in the form of a 3-4-3. Three centre-backs start and give Hugo Lloris plenty of protection, with two wing-backs bombing up and down the flanks to provide some attacking impetus as well as defensive solidity.

The back five have protection from two central midfielders in front of them, as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have made their places in the side unquestionable. These two also create plenty of chances for the front three, featuring a false-nine and two wingers on either side, typically seeing Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane with one of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison starting on the right.

Tottenham Hotspur Recent Form and Tactics

Spurs’ form so far has been somewhat confusing. It’s difficult to say that the North London side’s previous appearances have shown a lot of quality, as Antonio Conte’s team have conceded as many goals as Wolverhampton Wanderers down in seventeenth place. However, goals have kept the team in matches, with eighteen goals for this season so far, only falling behind Manchester City.

This is a result of the freedom afforded to the front three. Conte is known for his “automatisms” and structured play in the build-up, but counter-attacks are where his side thrives and were one of the main reasons Son got a hat trick against Leicester. As Arsenal are a team that put a lot of pressure on opponents, this counter-attacking play is a trend that will continue.

Tottenham Hotspur Injuries to Consider

Tottenham Hotspur are in a great position in terms of injuries. Ben Davies originally has a knee injury against Sporting Lisbon, which Antonio Conte thinks he will have recovered from. Lucas Moura is also likely to be available, with Hugo Lloris undergoing a late fitness test after a potential thigh injury.

The most pressing injury issue is that of Dejam Kulusevski. The Swede suffered a muscular injury, and, whilst undergoing a late fitness test, didn’t sound like he’d be featuring in the Italian manager’s plans at the Emirates in the press conference.
