Man of the Match
Leeds United’s Man of the Match went to Rasmus Kristensen. Suffice to say the right-back hasn’t had the best of introductions at Elland Road, struggling to properly get going. This match saw him go up against Wilfried Zaha, a matchup that he needed to win if the Whites were to get anything from the match. He was, for the most part, successful, keeping the Ivorian quiet on the left-wing.
Other candidates for Man of the Match were Brenden Aaronson and Pascal Struijk. Struijk opened the scoring after some fancy footwork from Aaronson, as the American danced his way through the Palace defence. It didn’t have the impact he would have hoped for on the result but was a clear show of talent from the midfielder.
What Went Wrong for Leeds United?
Leeds United’s main struggle in the second half surrounded turning possession into goals. With plenty of the ball, the Whites found themselves struggling for a creative spark in midfield, struggling to get the play forward to Patrick Bamford, and later Joe Gelhardt. After a first half that blew Patrick Vieira’s side out of the water, the Eagles got a lot more solid after a system change at half-time. Jesse Marsch’s side couldn’t adapt and fell behind as a result. Perhaps having Luis Sinisterra back soon will fix that issue.

Rasmus Kristensen's attitude 👏
After admitting he needs to improve his performances, Rasmus was statistically Leeds United's best player against Crystal Palace and got the better of one of the league's best wingers in Wilfried Zaha.
