Oxford United recorded their first win in six games on Saturday with a 4-2 win on the road against Exeter City.
Elsewhere this week, two of the club’s youngsters have been sent out on loan but one promising youth player has signed a new deal.

Loan Spell for U’s Youngster
Oxford youngster Will Owens has joined North Leigh on a one-month work experience deal.
The versatile 19-year-old, who has also spent time at Banbury United this season, will be hoping to make a mark for Eddie Odhiambo’s side.
Youngster Pens New Deal
Another Oxford youngster in Tyler Goodrham has penned a new deal with the club.
The 19-year-old, who has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season and scored his first senior goal on his Football League debut against Cambridge United, has committed his future until 2024, with the option of an additional 12 months.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “I’m more than happy to be offered a new contract and really looking forward to it.
“I have loved being part of the squad this season and it’s all about gaining experience and learning as you go along.
“I had two loans last season which helped me a lot, then pre-season went well and when I got my chance in the first team I was so determined to make the most of it.
“I’m still learning all the time but I try to play with a smile and the gaffer is excellent; he wants us to play attacking football and that really suits my game.”
U’s boss Karl Robinson added: “Tyler is an outstanding young man.
“The fans have taken to him because of his energy and enthusiasm, but technically he is also very good and we think he has a very bright future.”
Another Young Loan Departure
Following the departure of Will Owens, another young striker has left the club with Slavi Spasov joining Banbury on loan.
The 20-year-old became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer when he made his debut in 2018 and has been in and around the first team this season.
However, following previous loan spells at Woking and North Leigh, Robinson feels he needs the game time.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “We wish Slavi the best of luck with this move. It will benefit him to gain more game time in a senior side and a physical league. He will come back to us as a more experienced player.”
First Win In Six With Victory Against the Grecians
Oxford recorded a first win in six games in all competitions with a 4-2 victory on the road against Exeter.
Cameron Brannagan gave the U’s an early lead with a well-worked free-kick before Sam Long doubled the advantage from another set piece.
Kyle Joseph then netted either side of the break to put the U’s four goals up. However, the visitors conceded two late efforts to take some of the gloss off what was a promising display.
