Cristiano Ronaldo has resumed training with Manchester United’s first-team squad after being dropped against Chelsea, confirms The Athletic’s Andy Mitten. The Portuguese forward was given a punishment to not interact with his teammates after walking out on them in his side’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Manchester United Allow Cristiano Ronaldo to Resume First-Team Training
Ronaldo and ETH have been in constant dialogue. He trained today with first team and could well play on Thurs v Sheriff (and their deputy manager). We spoke about this on Talk of the Devils yesterday.

Ronaldo in Contention to Feature in Next Europa League Game
The Portuguese forward caused a lot of controversy in his side’s last game at Old Trafford, when he simply stormed back to the dressing room towards the end of the impressive win over Spurs. Erik ten Hag decided to make an example out of him by giving him a stern exile for missing a key game as well as training all alone by himself.
But it appears that the two have now resolved their issues. Mitten adds that the 37-year-old striker has been in constant dialogue with the Dutch boss and seems to have come to a mutual understanding once again. Ronaldo was pictured training with the United first-team players on Tuesday at the Carrington training facility and looking quite sharp at that.

There is a distinct possibility that the Portuguese forward can return to action for his side on Thursday when the Red Devils face Sherrif Tiraspol in their final Europa League group game at Old Trafford this season. A win in the same game will confirm Ten Hag’s men a place into the Europa League knockout rounds.

Ronaldo’s Tensed Period Under Erik Ten Hag
Ever since experiencing a bitter first season back at Old Trafford, Ronaldo hasn’t been the happiest one around at the club. He actively looked to get a summer transfer for himself but was unable to convince a top-level club to sign him.
After missing a big chunk of pre-season, the Portuguese forward irked Ten Hag and has not been a regular under him. He’s only started in two Premier League games so far, with United failing to win both times. The 37-year-old has scored just two goals so far this season and seemingly struggling to adapt to the Dutchman’s system.

Irrespective of that, Ten Hag considers him an important member of the squad and is likely to use him quite often before the FIFA World Cup break in November – hoping that he can regain his goal-scoring form and help resolve his side’s issues – as the Red Devils have only scored 22 goals in 14 games so far.
