Liverpool Predicted Starting Line-up vs Napoli for November 1

Mohamed Salah celebrates goal for Liverpool

Liverpool will take part in their final group game of the 2022/23 Champions League campaign when they host Napoli at Anfield on Tuesday, November 1. The Reds need a win to top their group and head into the knockout rounds with a surge in momentum.

Liverpool Predicted Starting Line-up

How Liverpool Have Lined-up Recently

Jurgen Klopp has been forced to tinker with his side all throughout the season due to their injury issues in the first few months of the campaign. Normally, the Reds have lined up with a well-known 4-3-3 formation under the German gaffer which has brought them so much success in properly implementing his style of play.

However, some changes have been necessary due to key players getting injured in this season. Over the last few games, Klopp has seemingly used a 4-4-2 diamond formation to shape up his side – with Mohamed Salah operating more as a forward and Roberto Firmino playing in a no.10 role. Only the likes of Salah, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho have featured in virtually every game for the Reds this season and strayed clear of injuries.

Due to the lack of options available to him, Klopp might be bound to play a similar team against Napoli as the one which fell to a gutting loss at Anfield to Leeds United at the weekend. He’ll also hope that they are able to pick up their performance levels and rediscover their lost spark if the Merseyside side are to overwhelm the current Serie A league leaders.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

The Reds are going to be without a number of key first-team players for this pivotal Champions League group decider. Luis Diaz is out till December after suffering a nasty knee injury in their loss to Arsenal a few weeks ago. Diogo Jota is also a long-term absentee after getting injured recently, something which put an end to his hopes of playing at the Qatar World Cup.

Arthur Melo is another absentee with no confirmed return date for him, as he’s struggling with a thigh injury. Joel Matip is one more key absentee from this game, as he’s been unable to recover in time from his calf injury.
