According to The Athletic Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is to undergo scans in hospital, following an injury during the United States’ final group stage game of the World Cup.

Winger to undergo an abdominal scan
24-year-old American Pulisic who plays for Premier League club Chelsea, is to undergo a scan in hospital following a collision with Alireza Beiranvand in the match against Iran. The winger scored his first World Cup goal in the first half of the match, but clattered with the Iranian keeper.
As the USA team celebrated the goal, the Chelsea player lay injured in the back of the net. The USA medical team managed to get onto the pitch to treat the 24-year-old. The Premier League player needed to be helped to his feet and off the pitch by the physios.

Return to the pitch
Pulisic managed to return to the pitch after a little while for the rest of the first half. However, the second half saw that the winger had been replaced before the match resumed. Pulisic has been confirmed to have an abdominal injury and has been taken to a local hospital for a scan.
The extent of the injury is at this time not known. Neither is it known if the Chelsea winger will be available to play in the knockout stages against The Netherlands on 3rd December. The USA team will be willing the injury to be minor and that the 24-year-old will be ready for the match on Saturday.
If Pulisic is ruled out it will be a big blow for the USA as the Chelsea winger is the rising star for The Stars and Stripes. Chelsea will also be concerned for their winger as he is also a major asset for the club. There is interest in the winger from other Premier League clubs, and Chelsea could cash in during the transfer window. An injury though will drop the value of the player, so they will be hoping that the scans show something not serious.
