The president of Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr has denied reports about holding any negotiations with former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives over a deal to sign him in the January transfer window. This puts even more questions around the future of the Portuguese star.

Ronaldo’s Future Remains Unclear After Manchester United Exit
Even though he was pictured training in the Real Madrid training ground earlier this month, the 37-year-old forward’s future remains unclear. There doesn’t appear to be any club to be in a vital position to sign him, even though he can be signed as a free agent next month.
Cristiano Ronaldo has had a pretty disappointing season so far, both at the domestic and international levels. Before his exit from Old Trafford, he had made 16 appearances in all competitions for United and only scored three goals, out of which two came in the Europa League.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner played in all five of Portugal’s World Cup games but was benched in both the knockout games. He only scored one goal at the World Cup and his poor run of form is probably the reason why not many clubs are scrambling for his signing right now.
Ronaldo Yet to Make Public Comment on His Future After World Cup Disappointment
Ronaldo has remained very quiet on his future ever since his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, in which he lambasted Manchester United and even their head coach Erik ten Hag. The 37-year-old was embarrassed in the latter stages of the World Cup after being benched for Portugal’s final two games. He bid the competition an emotional adieu and doesn’t seem to have finalized any future deals for himself.
The Portuguese forward has reportedly been rejected by Chelsea, while other major clubs haven’t shown any interest in signing him either. With Al Nassr’s president also seemingly putting down a move for him, there is a lot of uncertainty about where he will be playing next year.

Ronaldo is currently a free agent and can join any side he wants in the winter window, but his major wage demands are a reason why he hasn’t received a lot of offers yet. The 37-year-old does want to keep playing at the top level for years to come, but at this moment it looks like he’ll have to ‘downgrade’ and join a less popular side, probably in a money-rich league like the Saudi Pro League or even in the MLS.
