United Set to Keep Talking on Weghorst Loan Deal
The Manchester side will not really have an easy time in their pursuit of the Dutch striker, who is stuck in a bit of a complicated situation. He is currently on loan at Turkish side Besiktas for the rest of the season, which means Burnley will need to terminate that deal before the Netherlands international can make his loan move to Old Trafford.

Romano adds that there is a sense of optimism among the player and United that a deal can be done soon. Erik ten Hag’s side will continue talks with the Championship side to get a deal done, but will also have to convince Besiktas to let him leave – with the club’s director claiming that they’ll demand some kind of compensation from the Premier League giants if they’re to let Weghorst leave.
Weghorst Keen on United Move
Romano also states that Wout Weghorst himself is really keen on joining the Red Devils claiming that the striker “does not want to miss this big chance”. What is also helping his case is that Ten Hag is also clear in wanting the 6’6″ forward, as he only has Anthony Martial as a natural no.9 option in the first team.

The Dutch gaffer’s predecessor at United, Ralf Rangnick, is also a fan of the 30-year-old and praised his decision to join Burnley last year – calling him a “very technical player” and comparing him to Liverpool legend Ian Rush. Weghorst scored an impressive brace in the Netherlands’ loss in the World Cup quarter-finals against Argentina and has scored nine goals in 18 appearances for Besiktas so far in this campaign.
