To the shock of many, Arsenal have got themselves into a position from which they could potentially win the Premier League. As a result, this has become a vitally important transfer window for the Gunners as they must reinforce their squad if they want to fend off Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Confirmed Signings
Leandro Trossard
After Chelsea shockingly beat the Gunners to the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, Arsenal were forced to turn their attention to alternative solutions. There were plenty of household names linked with the move, but the club have confirmed that 28-year-old Belgian winger Leandro Trossard has signed for the Gunners for a reported fee of just £27 million.
Whether or not the winger will start regularly remains to be seen. In his debut against Manchester United, the forward was on the bench, but that may not always be the case. There is a rather creative change of system that would afford him to start in the left-wing position. It would see Eddie Nketiah dropped to the bench, Gabriel Martinelli moved into the number nine position, and Trossard deployed on the left side of the front three.
That would be incredibly harsh on Nketiah, who has been superb whilst deputising for the injured Gabriel Jesus, however, it would provide Arteta with a completely fluid front three that could cause opposing teams problems from all angles.
Jakub Kiwior
The Gunners have also recently confirmed the arrival of 22-year-old Polish left-sided centre-back Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia Calcio. The defender will likely provide some much-needed cover for Gabriel Magalhaes in the squad as the Brazilian has started every Premier League game this season and is at risk of suffering burnout.
The reported fee is believed to be approximately £17.5 million with add-ons, and at that price also represents shrewd business by the club.

Potential Signings
Ivan Fresneda
Another player that is edging ever closer to a move to the Emirates is 18-year-old Spanish right-back Ivan Fresneda. The Spaniard currently plays for Real Valladolid and possesses fantastic ball control, as well as being an extremely competent defender.
David Ornstein recently reported that Arsenal have agreed on a deal worth £13.1 million for the young sensation. However, so too have Borussia Dortmund; leaving it to the 18-year-old to decide which club he moves to. Although, regardless of his choice, both deals would see Fresneda loaned back to Real Valladolid for the remainder of the season.
Moises Caicedo
David Ornstein has revealed that the Gunners have had a £60 million bid for the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder rejected. Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in the player, with the Blues having a £55 million verbal proposal rejected already.
If the club were able to get the deal over the line, it would be a very interesting move and could see the composition of Arsenal’s midfield change. Whilst Granit Xhaka has been superb this season, Arteta may choose to deploy Caicedo instead of the Swiss international, creating a more powerful and athletic partnership with Thomas Partey.
