Anthony Elanga’s 2022/23 Campaign
Elanga has actually been afforded plenty of opportunities this season, having made a total of 20 appearances for United this season. However, many of his opportunities in the Premier League have come from the bench, with the 20-year-old struggling to break into Erik ten Hag’s first team.
He has registered just two assists in all competitions this campaign, and for the most part, has failed to build upon what was a largely positive season for him on an individual level last season. With Rashford rediscovering his best form, and Jadon Sancho soon to return from injury, his playing time will likely only be further reduced during the remainder of the season

Best for Both Parties
Therefore, a potential loan appears to be the best option for both the player and the club. Elanga will likely be provided with regular first-team football at a high level, which will drastically benefit his development as a footballer.
Manchester United, on the other hand, would benefit from the move for two reasons. Firstly, the winger would return to the club with greater maturity and exposure to first-team football, which would make him a far better player for the squad. Secondly, United would also be able to offload a portion of his reported £43,000-per-week wages – which is an enormous amount for a fringe player.

However, with so little time remaining in the window, it remains to be seen whether a loan deal to Borussia Dortmund, or any other club for that matter, can be completed.
