Manchester United are going to have to pay £100 million in order to tempt Tottenham Hotspur into selling Harry Kane in the summer, as per The Times. The Red Devils are eager to sign a new forward in the summer and are big admirers of the 29-year-old forward.

Kane is set to enter the final year of his contract with the North London side in the summer and Spurs are aiming to place a very high price for his transfer to deter attention from Premier League rivals. The Times adds that United have included Kane in a shortlist of potential strikers to sign in the summer.

It is also claimed that Tottenham would be demanding a one-time fee of £100 million up-front in the summer in order to sell the 29-year-old striker, who recently became their all-time highest goalscorer. Normally, clubs prefer to separate a transfer fee and pay them in instalments to preserve their transfer budget.
The Times add that United believe that a fee of £100 million will be needed to be reassured on their part for them to start talks with Spurs over a deal for Kane. Tottenham have resisted strong interest in their captain in the past, most notably when they fended off Manchester City’s major attempts to sign him in 2021.

Despite the questions around Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham after their elimination from the Champions League, Kane is at least doing very well for himself and trying his best to win matches for his boyhood clubs this season.

The 29-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided four assists in all competitions for Spurs this season, which includes 20 goals in the Premier League itself. It’s this reputation along with his insane ability to score a lot of goals every season is why United are deeply interested in signing him – even though they’ll have to pay a huge fee to get a deal done.
