How Liverpool Have Lined-Up Recently

Jurgen Klopp is seeing his side show some late resurgence in the Premier League season, even though it might be too little too late for their top-4 dreams. However, he’ll keep them motivated to keep going and will probably stick to the core players who have excelled in recent games.

That involves the backline of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson sticking together for this. Fabinho has improved his form, so he’ll keep his place alongside the goal-scorer from the Tottenham win, Curtis Jones. Jordan Henderson, once hailed as an ‘unbelievably important’ player by Klopp, should return for this – while the front three of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo retain their places after impressing together against Spurs.

Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics

Liverpool are experiencing a surge in form and have excelled over the last month or so, having won four of their last five games in the Premier League – which included denting Arsenal’s Premier League title charge too.

Klopp has gotten his side playing their trademark ‘heavy-metal’ football again, with Liverpool producing some excellent attacking football at home in recent weeks. He’s got them playing incisive attacking football, which includes pressing the opponents inside their own box and etching together quick passing moves. He’s even given Alexander-Arnold a new role of operating as a centre-midfielder at times, allowing him to create chances better.

Liverpool love creating most of their chances through the wide areas, with the wing-backs often overlapping into the final third to allow the wingers to go inwards and pack around the opposition area – causing chaos and allowing them to score a lot of goals.

Alexander-Arnold has been in amazing form over the last month, getting assists in each of his last five Premier League appearances. He’s currently the glue that sticks together most of Liverpool’s chances, using his impressive crossing ability and vision to set up big stuff for his teammates. Along with him, Liverpool are also quite dependent on the other wing-back, Andy Robertson to create opportunities with his impressive delivery from the wide areas.

Mo Salah is still going strong with his lethal finishing skills, as he’ll aim to use his clever movement to trouble the Fulham defenders and slot clinical shots into the back of the net. Diaz had an impressive return from injury against Spurs, as he aims to use his dribbling ability to build moves for Liverpool and also try to score them with his smart finishing skills. Gakpo likes to drop deep and link-up play in his current role, but he also needs to make use of his smart eye for goals to add a bigger threat for the Reds.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Roberto Firmino is out of this clash, while Diogo Jota is also a doubt. Liverpool’s ‘breakout midfield star’ Stefan Bajcetic remains injured.
