The Spaniard’s agent Jaume Munell recently spoke to Fabrizio Romano about his future and plans if the Bees demand an unrealistic fee for his sale. He said: “If Brentford does not lower the price tag for David Raya this summer, we’ll be ready to leave as free agent in one year.”
Raya’s current contract with Brentford is all set to expire next summer and it has been reported that he has no plans on signing a new contract. Romano adds that Raya’s camp expect clarity from the Bees over his future now they have signed his replacement in Mark Flekken.

How Much Will Brentford Ask For Raya’s Sale?
Brentford manager Thomas Frank is a big fan of Raya but admitted last season that there is a strong chance that they’ll need to sell him. He’s stated that the club will ask for at least £40 million to consider letting him leave after his impressive campaign.

However, there is a chance that clubs will flinch over spending that big of an amount on signing a new goalkeeper, even though Raya’s skillset and quality is well known. The 27-year-old, who is described as a ‘beast’ in goal for his heroics over the last season, managed to keep 12 clean sheets in 38 Premier League games in the 2022/23 season.
