What Did Zakaria Tell the Chelsea Fans?

It appears that new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is not favourable to the prospect of signing Zakaria on a permanent basis and is ready to let him go back to Juventus next season. Fabrizio Romano claims that the Argentine manager specifically told the club not to trigger the buy clause on his loan deal.

After realising that his spell at Stamford Bridge had ended, Zakaria wrote on his Instagram: “It’s been a tough time but you guys always had my back. Thanks to everyone who’s been supporting me! Let’s focus on beautiful memories.” After this, the 26-year-old will be making his way back to the Serie A club, where he also has an uncertain future.

Zakaria didn’t really have much of an eventful spell at Stamford Bridge, having only been able to make 13 appearnaces for them over the course of the season. He struggled with injuries and failed to adapt, and was only able to score one goal for the club.

Pochettino Planning Changes to Chelsea Midfield

It’s quite clear that Zakaria – who was hailed as “excellent” by ex-Chelsea winger Joe Cole earlier this season – is not part of Pochettino’s long-term plans at the club. The Argentine manager appears to have other plans and is reportedly ready to let Mateo Kovacic leave for Manchester City, while Mason Mount has agreed personal terms with Manchester United over a move too.

The Blues are seemingly looking to acquire some new midfielders, which includes Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte. They’re likely to pair a new possible midfield target with record signing Enzo Fernandez, who should play a more forward role under Pochettino next season.
