Liverpool were left red-faced after being unable to complete the transfer of Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion, despite having a £110 million bid accepted for him. With this deal in the past, the Reds are now looking into other midfield options and are now being linked to PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, as per reliable Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink.

Liverpool Eyeing Potential Ibrahim Sangare Move
Watch: Liverpool and Chelsea are destroying the transfer market
Who Is Sangare?
The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international has been performing really well in the Eredivisie over the last few years and helped his side win the KNVP Cup in the last two seasons. He made 45 appearances across all competitions for them in the previous campaign, scoring eight goals and providing three assists from a deep midfield role.

Sangare is a robust, hard-working midfielder who excels in winning back the ball and can also help dictate play with his passing range from deep. WhoScored categorizes his strengths to be tackling, winning aerial duels, intercepting the ball as well as passing it forward, especially with slick through balls.
The 25-year-old is naturally a defensive midfielder, who can also play in a no.8 role if necessary. He has made over 130 appearances for PSV, including three this season having scored one goal already in the 2023/24 term.
How Much Will Liverpool Need to Pay For Him?
Elfrink adds that alongside the Reds, Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on Sangare’s situation and have him on their transfer radar as well. It’s added that in only a short matter of time the 25-year-old’s future will be more clear and it will be more apparent if Liverpool is really serious about signing him.

The midfielder reportedly has a release clause of £32 million. That could make him a much cheaper signing than Caicedo if Jurgen Klopp’s side moves forward with their interest. The Reds allegedly agreed to a £60 million deal to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, but the player is rumoured to prefer a move to London. Having seemingly missed out on not one, but two, targets we could see the side step up their interest in a man who has been hailed as “extraordinary” in the past.
