Are Chelsea Really Interested in Smith Rowe Signing?

Fabrizio Romano has clarified that he has “honestly” not heard about anything around Chelsea ever holding concrete negotiations with Arsenal over the possible signing of Smith Rowe. The journalist blatantly clarifies that the English midfielder was never a major summer transfer target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, nor was he ever close to making a shocking move to the Gunners’ rivals. It is further stated that Mikel Arteta considers the 23-year-old a part of his project at the Emirates Stadium and that he retains the utmost trust of the Arsenal hierarchy.

For the time being, it looks clear that Smith Rowe is going to stay at the club this summer and aim to break into the first team after missing a chunk of games last season due to injury. He hasn’t started a game for Arteta’s side in this campaign so far, but will look to change that going forward.
