Latest Addition to Chelsea’s Long Injury List

The Premier League giants have been plagued with injuries from the beginning of the season. Summer arrival Christopher Nkunku underwent a knee operation and is expected to be out until December. Promising centre-back Wesley Fofana unfortunately suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury which is expected to keep him out of action for a considerable period of time.

First-choice right-back, Reece James is also suffering from a thigh issue since the start of the season and is nearing a return to the field. Carney Chukwuemeka, Mykhailo Mudryk, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile and Armando Broja are the other names in the long injury list of the Stamford Bridge-based side.

Romeo Lavia Hit With a Potentially Serious Injury Blow

Tavolieri revealed through his social media that the Londoner’s big-money summer signing has suffered an injury in training with the club. It is suspected that the injury could potentially be a serious one. The Belgian suffered an ankle issue and the journalist reported that it could possibly be a muscle tear in the ankle. The cause of the injury is yet to be disclosed.

Lavia was signed from Southampton this summer after a dramatic turn of events. Liverpool were linked to the player for a long time and had submitted multiple official bids.

A Southampton director revealed that they had already accepted an offer from the Merseyside club before the bid from Chelsea arrived. The 2020 Champions League winners paid a transfer fee of £53m fixed plus £5m add-ons to snatch the “generational talent” away from their Premier League rivals.
