What Happened to Perisic?
The club have confirmed that the Croatia international sustained a nasty knee injury in training and will have to undergo surgery. He is thought to have ruptured his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) in his right knee, which is possibly one of the worst injuries he could suffer at the age of 34.

In an official statement confirming his injury, the team wrote: “We can confirm that Ivan Perisic has suffered a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee. The experienced Croatia international sustained the injury in non-contact training and will undergo surgery. Ivan will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff and is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.”
How Long Will Perisic Be Out For?
After the injury was confirmed, Fabrizio Romano gave a bit of an insight on the plans for him and how long it’ll take for Perisic to recover from his injury. The journalist reports that the 34-year-old “will miss the next 5/6 months” of action because of the lengthy recovery time that is needed for this kind of injury.

This is similar to the kind of injury that Spurs midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur suffered earlier this year around February and he is yet to make an official appearance for the side since then. Romano also adds that Perisic, hailed by him as a “fantastic professional”, will now be working hard on his recovery once he successfully undergoes his surgery and that the Croatian star has a big target in mind which is to play for his country in the Euro 2024 next year and feels that he can do it despite this injury.
The experienced winger joined the Lilywhites from Inter Milan last summer and has made 50 appearances for them so far in which he assisted 14 goals and scored one himself.
