Romano has confirmed Arsenal are looking at extending Ben White’s contract after the Gunners finalised a new deal for Martin Odegaard. The England international currently earns 120k per week, and has impressed Emirates officials with his performance and attitude. The update confirms the talks over a new deal for the defender will advance soon.

Arsenal have recently confirmed Martin Odegaard has signed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium – an inspired move by Mikel Arteta, as the Norwegian midfielder has started the season strongly. Now that the new deal has been agreed, it looks like the deal for White’s new contract will accelerate soon.

Following the extension of Gabriel Martinelli’s contract, the Arsenal boss spoke on the importance of agreeing new contracts with key players: “Part of the plan obviously is to extend the contracts of our biggest talents and commit them to the future.” It appears Arteta is intent on building a core group of players for the future, and agreeing these contracts is integral to the club’s future planning.
