Manchester United have struggled with a lot of key injuries through the early part of the 2023/24 season, which have impacted their performances. But it appears that Erik ten Hag is likely to get a boost with the return of an important first-team star after the November international break.

When Could Shaw Be Back In Action?
The Red Devils have been missing their important left-back Luke Shaw for the last few months after he sustained a hamstring injury towards the first few weeks of the campaign. However, it appears that the Englishman has now recovered from that issue and is close to making a return.

Ten Hag confirmed the return of Shaw in training and gave an update on his fitness, saying: “He’s [Shaw] been training for two weeks with the team and we are quite hopeful that he will return in the squad for Sunday’s game.” The return of Shaw could significantly help strengthen United’s backline, which has been leaking a lot of goals throughout the 23/24 campaign so far. The 29-year-old can also help add more creativity to their attack with his impressive crossing ability, and add more unpredictability through their left wing too.
When Can The Others Injured Stars Return?
Unfortunately for the Red Devils, Shaw isn’t the only one to have suffered with injuries. They have a number of players out with injuries, including Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, who was recently seen watching his teammates in action in their training session.
Christian Eriksen sustained an injury before the November break and is expected to be out of action for a few weeks too. With that being said, the return of the defender could at least help add a stronger structure to their back four. The Englishman, who was hailed as “fabulous” by Ten Hag earlier this season, has only been able to make two appearances in the Premier League this season and will look to kick-start his season properly by inspiring his side to gain some winning consistency heading into the festive period.
