The prayers of fans could be answered as their former striker, Emmanuel Dennis, will join the Hornets on loan and terminate his current contract at İstanbul Basaksehir, according to Adam Leventhal of The Athletic.

Emmanuel Dennis has struggled for form this season after joining Istanbul Basaksehir on loan from Nottingham Forest in September. Dennis was surplus to requirements for Nottingham Forest in the summer as the East Midlands looked to reduce their bloated squad.

The striker has made only eight appearances for the Turkish side this season, starting four and coming off the bench four times. He has not registered a goal or an assist, however he has picked up two yellow cards.
A Second Chance for Emmanuel Dennis
The 26-year-old played a bit part role for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last season, where he was signed for a reported fee of £15 million from Watford, as per The Athletic. In all competitions, the forward made 27 appearances for the Trees in the 2022/23 season, scoring twice against Newcastle and Aston Villa in the Premier League, as well as registering three assists.

He previously played for the Hornets in the 2021/22 season, where he scored 10 times and registered six assists. Watford’s move to sign Dennis is almost certainly a reaction to the departure of striker Rhys Healey, who signed for Huddersfield Town on January 19, 2024.
The Championship side face Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup later in the week. Fans would be hoping to see the “very talented” player back in action as they aim to get back into the first division of English football.
