Manchester City have secured the talents of Oscar Bobb for a further 5 years in a new long-term deal announced by the club. The 20-year-old moved to City in 2019 from Norwegian club Vålerenga for an undisclosed fee. After a spell in their academy side, the wide forward was named as the best young talent in the development side by The Guardian.

City’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain has nothing but praise for the attacking midfielder stating that “Oscar is blessed with superb natural talent and technique and has already established himself as a very important member of the squad.”
“We have been delighted to watch his progression from our Academy through to the first team and to see his fantastic ability, attitude and application continue to prosper.”

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the deal, stating that the Sky Blues rejected a loan deal from Lazio on the deadline day of the last summer transfer window. This signals the faith that the reigning champions have in the young talent.
Bobb commented, “It’s an incredible environment and the best possible place to be for a young player – I have already learnt so much from Pep, his coaching staff and my teammates.”
Norwegian Prospect Has Begun to Make a Name for Himself
Following his move to Manchester, the then 16-year-old would go on to be a part of the academy set up for the following four years. His final year at the PL2 level saw him supply 17 assists and chip in with six goals while helping his team secure a third consecutive title. This superb stat line earned him the Player of the Season award and further enhanced his claim to be in first-team action.

Bobb made his senior debut this season, coming on in the dying minutes of a 5-1 victory against Fulham on matchday 3. Since that debut, the Norwegian has played in six other Premier League matches. He scored his first league goal against Newcastle in the dying moments of their 3-2 win at St James Park in January.
It wasn’t just any goal, the effort was good enough to be voted as the winner of the Premier League’s goal of the month for January.
The youngster has also made a splash at the European level by scoring a debut senior goal against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League group stage. On the international stage, Bobb has made his senior debut for Norway and is hoping to help fellow countryman Erling Haaland lead the team to World Cup 2026 after narrowly missing out on this years European Championships.
