‘Experienced or Young’: Fabrizio Romano Reports Man Utd Keeping Tabs on Arsenal and Chelsea Target

'Now Finally Done': Former Arsenal Target is 'Here We Go' to Complete Move: Ivan Toney

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Ivan Toney as they look to bolster their squad and challenge for silverware next season. The Brentford striker, who will be out of contract in 2025, is also wanted by Arsenal and Chelsea according to the Mirror.

He told Sky Sports earlier this year that he wants to play for a top club, but reiterated his commitment towards Thomas Frank’s project.

Is Ivan Toney the Missing Piece in Manchester United’s Puzzle?

Current Stance on Toney’s Future

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “It’s just one of the options to be considered and discussed internally. As I said here multiple times, Man United are still in early stages of the process to decide which striker they want to sign; experienced or young.

“Talks are going to take place internally, Toney will be one of the names available on the market so could be one to watch.”

The 28-year-old returned from an eight-month betting ban in January and has scored four goals in ten games for the Bees. According to Transfermarkt, Toney is valued at £42.5 million. However, the club believe his value is at least £80m.

Despite the speculation surrounding the player’s future, Manchester United’s interest appears to be more of a cautious observation rather than a definitive pursuit. With uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s future and the introduction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Red Devils must decide whether they prioritize experience or youth in their pursuit of a striker.

Toney: ‘I Move to Madrid and it’s all Good’

The England international has thrived at Brentford, attracting attention from top clubs across the country. However, his candid admission about seeking opportunities elsewhere has undoubtedly raised a few eyebrows.

In a recent interview, he told Sky Sports: “I’m in the mix for the Euros and then we win the Euros. Then [hopefully] things will fall into place. If Brentford was to sell me, they make their money, I move to Madrid and it’s all good.”

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United will be looking to add value to their squads in the summer. Ivan Toney’s arrival would not only alleviate the burden on established stars but also raise the level of competition within the team.
