Manchester City could make a summer move for Rayan Ait-Nouri following his incredible 2023-24 season at Wolves. The Citizens are expected to add a new full-back to their ranks this summer.
Manchester City to Make Transfer Decision on Ait-Nouri
A Ball-Playing Left-Back
Ait-Nouri started his Premier League career after joining Wolves on a £9.8 million move from Angers in 2021. Once one of the most promising youngsters in Ligue 1, he initially struggled to adapt to life in the English top flight.

Last season, Ait-Nouri’s poor form convinced Julen Lopetegui to drop him from the Wolves squad for nine of their last ten games of the season. The Algeria international even emerged on the club’s sale list last summer. However, he went on to find his best form under Gary O’Neil and quickly reclaimed his starting spot at the start of the current season.
The Wolves full-back’s incredible versatility and his ball-playing qualities have attracted interest from Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window. However, it seems the Wanderers are not willing to give up on their “phenomenal” defender without a fight.
Not an Easy Transfer
Ait-Nouri has emerged as a potential target for Man City, with one source even claiming the Citizens are considering involving Sergio Gomez in a player-plus-cash swap deal for him.

However, Fabrizio Romano believes Man City still haven’t made a final decision on signing a new left-back. The renowned journalist doesn’t expect Wolves to “make it easy” for interested clubs to sign the 22-year-old this summer as they look to keep most of their important players ahead of the next season.

Another Wolves star Pedro Neto is also reported to be on City’s radar as well as Bayern Muinch’s Joshua Kimmich. Following their unsuccessful bid to sign Declan Rice last summer, the Citizens could return to the market for a new central midfielder this summer.
