The Foxes have confirmed that the 37-year-old forward has agreed to sign a new one-year contract that will run until the end of the 2024/25 season. Vardy is delighted to have signed a new contract with Leicester and told their official website: “To get the numbers that I did [last season], I’m delighted with it, but there’s still more to come. I look after myself. I’ve always said that age is just a number. My legs feel fine so that’s why I carry on until my legs say ‘that’s it, game over’. There will be a day when that comes, but that’s not right now. We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football.”
Vardy Poised To Make Premier League Return
The 37-year-old striker, who joined Leicester City back in 2012, was able to taste Premier League promotion with them for the second time after Enzo Maresca’s side clinched the Championship title at the end of last season. Even though the Italian gaffer has now left the Foxes, Vardy is focused on making a major impact in what could be his final season in the Premier League. He has already created a ton of memories in the English top flight, including his heroics for his side in the 2015/16 Premier League title-winning season.
