How Germany Have Lined up Recently

Julian Nagelsmann fielded the same starting lineup in all three games of the group stage.

In midfield, Nagelsmann paired Toni Kroos with Robert Andrich, who has secured his starting spot ahead of Pascal Gross.

Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala started on the wings, playing a crucial part in Germany’s smooth qualification for the knockout stage. Captain Ilkay Gundogan played behind Kai Havertz, who faced criticism for his poor display against Switzerland last weekend.

Germany Recent Form and Tactics

After two convincing victories over Scotland and Hungary, the Mannschaft went into their final group-stage game against Switzerland as clear favourites. However, unlike their previous two games, the hosts struggled to find their feet early on in the game.

Things got worse when Switzerland made it 1-0 through Dan Ndoye in the 28th minute, reaching the top spot in Group A. Germany pushed hard to score the equalizer but had to wait until the 92nd minute to find the back of the net.

Niclas Fullkrug, who had come off the bench 15 minutes earlier, restored Mannschaft’s leading spot in Group A with a brilliant header. The Borussia Dortmund star’s decisive cameo has convinced many German fans that Nagelsmann should start him ahead of Havertz in the upcoming match against Denmark.

Germany Injuries To Consider

The Mannschaft have stayed clear of injuries so far in the tournament, with Nagelsmann having a full squad at his disposal.

However, Germany will have to face Denmark without Jonathan Tah, who ended the group stage with two yellow cards. Three other Mannschaft stars are also at risk of suspension if they receive a yellow card in the upcoming game: Antonio Rudiger, Robert Andrich, and Maximilian Mittelstädt.
