England play the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 Semi-Finals. The match takes place on July 10 from the Signal Iduna Park, the home ground of Borussia Dortmund. Here is our England predicted lineup.
England Predicted Lineup vs Netherlands in Huge Battle for the Final
How England Have Lined-up Recently
Previously, Gareth Southgate had played with a 4-2-3-1: Jordan Pickford was the starting goalkeeper with Kyle Walker at right-back and Kieran Trippier at left-back. Marc Guehi and John Stones were the centre-backs.
The midfield was comprised of Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice, and Jude Bellingham. On the wings were Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden, with Harry Kane as the striker.

However, with Guehi suspended and Switzerland playing a strong back-five, England played with a 3-5-2-1 in the quarter-finals. Trippier and Saka were the wide midfielders, Ezri Konsa and Walker joined the back-three, and Foden moved into a more central attacking role alongside Bellingham.
England’s Recent Form
England looked relatively poor against the Swiss, a common theme in this tournament. They created just o.32 expected goals in the first 75 minutes that led up to Breel Embolo’s opening goal.
However, the Three Lions looked like a completely different side after conceding. Dominating the final 15 minutes, the side were saved by a sublime 80th-minute strike by Saka.
Extra-time was fairly even with neither side looking particularly strong, though English fans held their breaths for the final few minutes as Murat Yakin’s side took control and Silvan Widmer missed a good chance at the back-post.

However, England’s maturity in the penalty shootout will fill the nation with confidence, should it be required again in this tournament. Every penalty taker looked calm and scored with great technique. Furthermore, Pickford’s penalty save was strong and he was close to saving Xherdan Shaqiri’s.
England have a much better set of penalty-takers than they did in the Euro 2020 final in which they lost. This year they have two specialists that were not in the squad three years ago: Ivan Toney and Cole Palmer.
England Injuries and Suspensions to Consider
Luke Shaw returned from his injury in the previous match, coming on in the 78th minute. The “incredible athlete” should be ready to start. Meanwhile, Guehi’s suspension has now been served and he will be available for selection.
Kane was substituted with a minor injury, but he has confirmed that it was simply cramp and that he should be fit for the Netherlands match. The captain has been in full training ever since.
