How Much Will United Make on This Transfer?

The journalist claims that this deal has some additional performance-related add-on clauses. This means if van de Beek can reach a specific number of appearances, goals or some special achievements, then United will get some extra money from Girona for it in the future. Romano states that the Red Devils are expecting to get around €4/5m (£4.2 million) from what they feel are achievable add-ons. They could get up to as much as €15m (£12.6 million) if van de Beek turns out a sensation for the La Liga club.
What Did van de Beek Say to Fans Before United Departure?
The Dutch midfielder has penned a sweet farewell note for the Manchester United fans as he closes in on his move to Girona. In an Instagram post, he wrote: “Dear Manchester United family. Today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end. I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years. From the moment we arrived at Manchester United, we felt extremely welcome and we are grateful for that. Thank you to everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A special thanks to all the fans that made these years unforgettable. Besides the football, the birth of our two children here ensures that Manchester will always have a special place in our hearts. Good luck to everybody, we’ll meet again.”

Van de Beek failed to impress at Old Trafford after joining from Ajax in 2020 for an initial £35 million fee. The 27-year-old was only able to make 62 appearances for the Red Devils, in which he scored two goals and only managed two assists. He’ll be aiming to rejuvenate his career at Girona and United will hope he succeeds so that they can at least get something from his transfer, having already had to make a big loss on offloading him.
