Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Gunners have agreed a deal with Sevilla to send the Belgian midfielder on loan for the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign. He adds that the two clubs have “signed all documents” for the 24-year-old’s move and that it should be official soon as well.

The journalist states that Sevilla have been given the option to sign Lokonga permanently at the end of the loan spell in 2025. The Gunners have included a buy clause amount of around £10 million, which the La Liga club can pay to keep him permanent from next year. Even that would see them making a loss on the 24-year-old, whom they had signed foraround £17.2 million in 2021. It’s also stated that the Gunners have inserted a 25% sell-on clause in the deal, meaning they’d get a hefty cut from any amount Sevilla gets from potentially selling him in the future.
What Are The Other Deals Arsenal Are Working On?
Arsenal have also reportedly agreed to send defender Nuno Tavares on loan to Lazio for the upcoming campaign. They have only been able to sign David Raya from Brentford permanently in the summer window and the Gunners are also reported to be close to signing Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.

But for Lokonga’s case, it doesn’t appear that he has any future with the North London club any more. The loan spell at Sevilla will be the third time he’s been sent out on a short-term deal by the Gunners, having spent periods at Everton and the 2023/24 season on loan at Luton Town, making 19 appearances for them and contributing one goal and three assists.
